J. Robert Scott was founded in 1986 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity Investments. From inception, we were never intended to serve as an extension to Fidelity’s Human Resources organization. Rather, we have always operated with a significant level of autonomy. This cultural bias toward independence has resulted in a thriving external practice that now represents approximately 75% of our business. We continue to work for our parent across all units of the business and geographies. Our external practice spans the financial services, high technology, education/not-for-profit, and life sciences industries and has a specialty focus on entrepreneurial organizations and leaders.
