Terry joined J. Robert Scott in 2010. He was previously a Partner with Heidrick & Struggles where he co-led the Global Alternative & Renewable Energy Practice. Terry focuses on executive search assignments in the Cleantech, industrial technology, manufacturing and high tech sectors with a particular focus on sustainability. He has conducted assignments for an extensive range of global corporations, privately owned small and medium sized companies as well as private equity and venture-backed companies. They include Solyndra, First Solar, BP Solar, GCL Solar Energy, EcoMotors as well as blue chip corporate clients, including Cisco, SanDisk, Deutsche Bank and Holcim.
Terry started his search consulting career with Russell Reynolds Associates in their Melbourne office in Australia and subsequently successfully started and ran a boutique executive search firm.
Terry's earlier career spanned 12 years at BHP, Australia’s largest industrial and resources company. Terry joined Tubemakers Water in 1992 where he ran their Water Industry Services Division for three years and successfully started a wastewater treatment equipment manufacturing operation in Thailand.
Terry holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He is Co-Chair of the Advisory Board of the University of San Francisco’s Center for the Pacific Rim .
Terry and his wife, Shirley have two daughters, Wendy and Penny. In his spare time, Terry loves to cook, listen to opera and play tennis.
