Erik R. Lundh is a Managing Director with J. Robert Scott. In addition to leading the firm’s San Francisco office, Erik specializes in providing leadership consulting and executive search services to clients in the Life Sciences industry. His sectors of expertise include Biotechnology, Specialty Pharmaceuticals, Molecular Diagnostics and Personalized Medicine, Research Tools and Services, Nanotechnology and Materials Sciences, and Alternative and Renewable Energy.
Erik has more than 18 years experience in the life sciences industry and executive search. His clients have included global multinational corporations and early-stage companies alike. Erik’s proficiency in offering counsel and conducting engagements ranging from technical to operational roles stems from his own experience in both scientific and executive-level commercial functions within the life sciences industry.
Prior to joining J. Robert Scott, Erik was the Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles’ Biotechnology Practice and Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s San Francisco office. Previously, he was a Partner with another leading international executive search firm. Before entering the search profession, Erik worked for several life sciences companies in roles spanning corporate strategy, business development, sales, marketing, and operations. While in the industry, Erik most recently served as Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations for Sentigen Holding Corp., a publicly traded drug discovery company. Earlier, Erik led the worldwide sales, business development and customer services functions at ACLARA BioSciences Inc., a leading provider of technologies for pharmaceutical discovery, development, and diagnostics. Erik was previously Vice President of Sales at SciQuest, Inc., a firm specializing in supplier relationship management solutions for the life sciences and industrial research markets. Before joining SciQuest, Erik held senior-level sales positions at QIAGEN Inc., an integrated bioseparation solutions provider. Erik began his career as a molecular biologist and cardiovascular research scientist at Berlex Biosciences, Inc., the North American affiliate of Schering AG.
Erik currently serves on the Boards of SentiSearch, Inc. and the Bay Area Council, and he is a strategic advisor to ChinaSF. Erik holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Santa Clara University.
