Derrick Martins serves as the Director of IT at J. Robert Scott. Derrick is responsible for overseeing the design/enhancement and operation of the IT infrastructure of the business, making sure that all the technical needs of the organization are met on a global basis. In addition to refining our IT procedures, standards and guidelines, Derrick also focuses on supporting the business in the generation of new operational efficiencies and competitive advantages that we can leverage from a technology perspective.

Derrick brings to J. Robert Scott a twelve-year career in Professional Services IT consulting. Most recently, Derrick was a Senior Manager with Hitachi Consulting Corporation, where he helped establish a Boston-based Business Intelligence Practice. Previously, Derrick served as a Managing Consultant for BusinessEdge Solutions (now part of EMC Global Consulting) and as a Senior Consultant at Painted Word (now the Palladium Group).

Derrick holds a BS/BA with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from Bryant University and a Master's Degree in Management & Operations from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA

Derrick, a native of Massachusetts, currently lives in Medford, MA. He met his wife Valerie on a snowboarding trip in 2001 and the two were married in April 2008. While in Boston, Derrick and his wife can typically be found around town walking the Charles with their dog Brady, trying the latest restaurants, or attending Red Sox and Celtics games.

Derrick’s other hobbies include cooking, international and domestic travel and spending time with friends and family.
