David joined J. Robert Scott in 2010 and is based in Hong Kong. As the Regional Head for Asia Pacific, he is responsible for building the firm’s presence in the region as well as executing senior level assignments.

Prior to joining J. Robert Scott, David was a founding Partner of Asia Carbon, a boutique search firm focused on the Asia Pacific region. Before setting up Asia Carbon, he was the Head of The Financial Services Practice for Asia Pacific for Korn/Ferry International. Previously, he spent six years as head of Asia for Whitehead Mann.

During his time in search, David has focused predominantly on senior level search in the financial services sector, in addition to selected public and private company work.  Prior to his career in search, he worked as a banking and finance lawyer at Allen & Overy and Baker McKenzie.

David graduated with a LL.B. (Joint Hons) degree in Law and Chinese Studies from the University of Leeds. He also has an LL.M. from the University of London as well as an M.B.A. from the Kellogg/HKUST Executive Management Program.

David is a solicitor qualified to practice in England and Wales and also in the Hong Kong SAR.

David speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

David is a keen golfer and is a long standing member of the Hong Kong Golf Association’s Executive Committee.
