Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to support the Information Technology organization of a major operating unit of the firm. The charter of the position calls for the leadership and management of all finance and related support services provided to the information technology organization, while also serving as a key member of the unit’s senior financial leadership team. Key responsibilities of the Vice President of Finance will include business decision support in developing financial strategies for sustained, profitable business, relationship building among all operational and financial peers, and planning, budgeting and ongoing expense management within setting strategy and operation plans and measurements. At a professional level, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of financial experience, at least half of which should have come in a managerial context, supporting a large, matrixed organization. From a functional perspective, backgrounds will likely emphasize strategic planning and/or financial planning and analysis. It will be required that this individual has meaningful experience supporting a sophisticated IT organization with a deep knowledge of information technology concepts and strategies and how they apply to a larger operating setting.

For this role, we are seeking a senior commercially-oriented executive with a track record of success selling high-end capital equipment into the manufacturing and manufacturing OEM markets. Experience in large and small companies is preferred. This role will report directly to the CEO.
Vice President, Sales
Semiconductors
Our client is a privately-held fabless semiconductor company focused on creating high quality, energy efficient multimedia processors for the mobile video market. At this time, they are seeking to recruit a Vice President of Sales who is thoroughly grounded in the process fundamentals of high-level business selling, within the video and multimedia market. It is imperative that this individual have a demonstrable track record of success as a salesperson and sales manager, as well as a track record of building a Sales organization, ideally within a Business Development and/or a Marketing organization, and succeeding within the context of an entrepreneurial environment. A proven ability to structure sophisticated customer and partner relationships at the senior-most level of organizations is critical. This role requires professional maturity and refined sales skills, as well as the ability to create a vision and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

The Vice President of Marketing will assume full control over the company’s marketing responsibilities. Naturally the position’s emphasis will be on product marketing and demand generation; however, as the candidate will dictate both short term and long term strategic development, we anticipate that he/she will be a major player in the company’s leadership and ultimate success. Therefore, the company also needs the VP of Marketing to evaluate the platform’s breadth of applicability, and in doing so, help expose the product to a broader range of relevant customers and industries.
As leader of the marketing team, the VP will be in constant touch with both upper-management and the sales department—it is therefore crucial that he/she have solid interpersonal and collaborative instincts. On a business side, we are seeking an individual that possesses a minimum of ten years experience, and a proven track record in both the marketing of technology products and the generating of customer demand. Although desirable, it is not a prerequisite that the candidate have a MBA; it is far more important that the candidate be a strong leader that brings a vision of how to advance the company to the forefront of the systems management industry.
Vice President, Business Development

Our client is a display technology company developing MEMS-based display modules for handheld devices such as cell phones, portable media players, and cameras. They are seeking to hire a Vice President of Business Development to be responsible for leading the establishment of relationships with key strategic and distribution partners as well as establishing an international presence, particularly in Asia, where the majority of the display industry players are located. The individual will work closely with the CEO and Vice President of Marketing in defining the competitive landscape, pricing and distribution strategy. It will be critical that the individual recruited not only possess sophisticated skills and capabilities as a dealmaker, but he/she must also have well-refined leadership traits.
In terms of professional background, the preference is for a minimum of fifteen years of business experience, at least half of which should have come in a managerial context. The ideal candidate must possess a demonstrable track record of high achievement as a deal closer across the value chain (customers and manufacturing and supply chain partners) in the displays market. Additionally desirable experience would involve a track record of doing deals for novel electronic components that are sold based on advanced features and functions into the hand-held mobile communication/computing device market.
President and Chief Operating Officer
Photovoltaic Materials
Our client is an energy technology company focused on the development and advancement of specialized photovoltaic materials used to collect solar energy. They are private and well funded by several prominent venture capital firms. Its technology enables solar panels to be made from lower cost, lightweight, flexible plastic substrates rather than glass. They are seeking to recruit a President who will be responsible for managing and integrating all of the company’s operating functions on a day-to-day basis. It is also expected that this individual will be responsible for refining the company’s strategic plan as necessary and will have as his/her primary responsibility the implementation and execution of that plan. In terms of the professional background, the appropriate candidate must possess a minimum of 20 years experience, at least half of this experience within a managerial context. The individual should have documented success in aggressively growing a revenue stream, introducing a novel, technology-intensive product to market, closing business development deals of consequence, recruiting and leading senior executives, and raising money in the private and public capital markets. Exposure to the Semiconductor/Microelectronics, Specialty/Electro Materials and/or Biotechnology markets is preferable.

The ideal candidates for this role will have a minimum of fifteen years of experience leading application development projects and managing and creating data assets and infrastructure to manage high volumes of data in a highly scaleable and portable environment. The appropriate individual’s background will exhibit leadership over the full life cycle of successful software development projects for online applications. It is critical that this individual has a demonstrated track record of success bringing products through complete development by maintaining disciplined project schedules, detailed documentation, effective communications, and meeting deadlines all in the context of a fast paced environment. This individual will have to be highly knowledgeable of the data networking market broadly, with specific expertise with high-end broadband access technology aimed at telecommunications carriers.

This individual must be in possession of a demonstrable track record of high achievement as a sales professional and sales manager, as well as a track record of success building and growing a national sales organization, ideally from an early stage, and succeeding in the context of an entrepreneurial environment. Experience selling sophisticated marketing automation, customer relationship management, data analytics/business intelligence software and/or marketing information/analytics services would be ideal.
